XTREME PROJECT

XTREME is a project financed by the EU Horizon Europe program. Running from January 2024 to December 2026, XTREME aims to revolutionize how art and music are experienced through a mixed reality (MR) environment. Partnering with 14 organizations across Europe, led by the IT University Copenhagen, the project explores innovative alternatives to traditional ways of accessing cultural experiences.

At the heart of XTREME is the development of a human-centered MR solution that transcends physical barriers, allowing people to experience concerts and performances remotely. By blending real and virtual content, this technology enables users to engage with immersive art and music from any location, sharing the experience with others in virtual social settings.

A selection of artists will create for the platform, with presentations at the MUNCH Museum in Oslo (DK), the Finnish National Opera and Ballet in Helsinki (FIN), the Irish Chamber Orchestra and the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance (IRE).
